Zaka's 1st M3 Attempt

Zaka was brave enough to go 1st in attempting M3 (Explain how an awareness of learning style can aid personal development) in a 121 Q&A session with his tutor (me). He allowed his attempt to be scrutinised by the group, who gave feedback. There's a clip here which he has been generous enough to share:

On balance Zaka ought to have given a more specific and detailed description of his learning style and strengths and weaknesses. He required some prompting to explain how using learning styles awareness helps by being able to address weaknesses as well as capitalise on strengths. Zaka ought to have been more specific in identifying ways he could make his learning more effective.

A couple of tips from the group were:

  • Give fuller descriptions and explanations (rule of three)
  • Rehearse beforehand (make notes)
  • Use the VARK helpsheets to identify activities to make learning more effective.
