Giving Feedback - Task 3 (Presentations)

D1 requires you to "evaluate interpersonal and written communications techniques". Critically observing and giving feedback on a peer's presentations can contribute to this.  Also this process can help both you and the person you observe to improve your presentation techniques.

It is important that feedback is constructive and supports a person's capacity to improve their performance. Feedback that leaves a person demoralised and unclear about what was good about their work and what they need to improve  won't have the desired effect.

There are a number of models of feedback. Three models are described here.

  • SIPP - Sincere, Incident-based, Positive, Personal
  • W3 - What went well, what went less well, what would you change
  • SLC - Sucess, Learn, Change

Also you migh want to find out about "hamburger feedback" and Walt Disney's "plussing" or "plus it" idea of feedback.

It's a wonderful world...

Have #hashtags come of age politically?

Twitter is not just a celebrity stalking tool for people without a life.  Twitter is also used by politicians and activists to shape the political agenda. Of course, you could also argue that politicians and activists are also people without a life!
